Super good! I often lean towards documentation (working backwards) to nail the product vision and then "shape up" approach to actually get it built. If you haven't read "How Big Things Get Done" https://www.amazon.com/How-Big-Things-Get-Done/dp/0593239512 it's super aligned. This takes mega projects and breaks them down into repeatable units. It also covers home renovation examples. The key point is that starting a project is like "opening a window" anything could crash through (black swan etc) so plan the details, open the window (commit the whole team), then close the window.
Literally went to bed last night thinking about our broken process and was thinking of going back to Waterfall in the age of Agile Vibe Coding!
I Had totally forgotten about Shape Up.
I think this is the perfect balance.
Can’t wait to listen to this episode.
